Co-op food store in Astley reopens after £ 567,000 overhaul

A CO-OP store reopened in Astley on Thursday 13 May after a £ 567,000 renovation.

The co-op will serve as an improved grocery store after the redesign that aims to better meet the needs of the community.

The 2,178 square foot store runs 100% on renewable energy and supports 18 jobs, with three new positions created as part of the relaunch.

Located in The Gables Mall, the transformed store will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, and offers an increased range and choice of fresh and healthy produce, ready meals and pizzas, award-winning wines, sans and vegans. . products, fair trade, take-out, bakery products and basic necessities. For the first time, it will also have a Costa Coffee Express machine.

Co-op provides a local funding boost and saves buyers money through its membership program. In addition to personalized offers, members are rewarded with 2 pence for every pound they spend on Co-op branded products added to their own member account balance. The cooperative also donates an additional 2 pence to local causes.

Contactless card payment limits are raised to £ 45, making shopping easier, faster and more secure.
