Portsmouth health food store sign takes a hit at Jeff Bezos

No one can deny how convenient Amazon is. Especially if you have Prime! You click on something and it magically appears on your doorstep the next day. What a time to live! But neither can we deny that our local businesses are dying a slow and painful death because of the mighty Amazon. It’s up to us, the community, to keep these businesses afloat.

I’m a little old fashioned when it comes to shopping. If I buy a dress, I like to smell the fabric, try it on in the store, and chat with the dressing room attendant to see if it fits me or not (she better say yes or I don’t buy it) We’ve been through a pandemic. I don’t know about you but I have had enough isolation to last me a lifetime. Let’s move out of our homes to buy stuff and buy that stuff from local businesses!

I was driving in Portsmouth today and passed by Herbal Path which is a natural pharmacy. The outer sign totally caught my attention:

I like this! It’s a sweet reminder that says ” Hey guys ! We are not billionaires. We’re not going to space in a phallic-shaped rocket anytime soon. Come shopping with us, right? and guess what? I did! I turned around to take the photo you see above, then went inside to browse. The staff were extremely nice and helpful and I actually left with an herbal supplement that was supposed to help me with my sleep issues. It was a really positive shopping experience.

Check out Herbal Path in Portsmouth or Dover. Small businesses are the fabric of our community, so let’s remember to shop local when we can!
